Obviously an essential ingredient at any student event which usually has the main focus on dancing. After our no obligation site visit we design the perfect sound system to fill your venue with high quality sound that combines crystal clear treble and trouser flapping bass.

Marquees
If you need additional space at your venue or simply don't have access to a venue with a large enough capacity for all your freshers, you could hire a marquee. Viable Events can hire a wide range of marquee sizes and styles so we can guarantee you the perfect marquee solution for your freshers events. As with everything else we can offer free advice on the correct size needed for the number of guests.

Viable Events has experience working with a huge variety of people and can recommend and source suitable staff for your freshers week events. Our list of staff include Events Managers, DJs, Bands, Security Staff, Lighting Operators, Sound Operators, Medics and Bar Staff.
The Nights
The services listed above are the foundations to the weeks events and rarely get changed during the week. However we know that when going out five nights in a row your freshers expect variety and with our knowledge and resources we are perfectly equipped to handle this. So this final stage is perhaps the most crucial and involves you and your team deciding on five individual nights from our extensive list:
- White T-Shirt Night - A simple yet effective concept that works well as the first event as it proves a great icebreaker. White T-Shirts are worn by all guests who a provided with a seemingly unlimited supply of marker pens, as freshers meet each other they sign each others shirts creating a lasting momentum of their first night as a fresher. Viable Events also install graffiti walls and UV cannons making the white T-shirts glow.
- Headphone Disco - Another simple concept with spectacular results. The Viable team arm all the freshers with a set of wireless headphones, and have two separate DJ's broadcast to them live via two wireless channels. This creates a room full of clubbers dancing to what appears to be complete silence.
- Pyjama Party - Viable Events turn your JCR into a giant bedroom by providing double bed booths to place around the venue as great places to get to know fellow freshers. A star cloth ceiling creates the illusion of the night sky. And pole dancing platforms ensure there is something for everyone, whatever their bedroom habits.
- Beach Party - The heating gets turned up full and we cover the inside of the marquee or venue with tonnes of sand turning it into your very own beach party. We also install A surf simulator (like a rodeo bull that uses a surf board), themed props like palm trees, lights that project water effects and even a cocktail bar. Think bikinis and board shorts for this incredible experience.
- Foam Party - 'Foam parties are the best thing since someone invented the nightclub'. We guarantee the University JCR or Union and the freshers the best foam party of their lives. We install giant foam cannons, inflatable stars, white ceiling drapes, multicoloured lasers and raised dancing platform (with and without poles). So that the students have a place to relax and wash off the foam we install hot tubs and provide a seemingly limitless supply of towels. More about our foam parties here
- Wild West Night - The Viable Events wild west experience is possibly one of the best experiences a fresher can have. Enter the events space through the saloon doors to be greeted with a shot of tequila, ride the rodeo bull, take part in a shotgun shootout, gamble at the casino or just dance in the Jail styled dancing cages. We also install themed props a night not be forgotten.
- James Bond Night - A bond night gives you an excuse to add a little bit of class to any freshers event. We install a red carpet leading up into your college bar to emphasize the glamour of the night. Our top DJ's mix a bit bond music with the student anthems. A great deal of theming is installed included props and a casino. The highlight of the evening can be fake warning sirens so everyone should evacuate outside the JCR. Once outside and a spectacular Viable Events firework show takes place.
- UV Rave - An incredible night that combines lasers, smoke machines, UV lights, UV stars, UV ceiling drapes and even UV active bubbles. These bubbles have a mystical glow as the fill the dance floor area and make a mess all over the dancers which is only visible under UV light.
- Cops and Robbers - Our cops and robbers themed freshers event is one that will not be forgotten. We combine the theme with a lock and key party in which all the freshers girls get locks and the boys get keys the idea is to find the other person that has the perfect match. A simple concept but a great icebreaker. To complete the theme we install jail styled dancing cages, police shooting games, police sirens and other themed props.
- Co2 Party - Co2 cannon's are not only highly visual, but they have the ability to cool hot and sweaty dance floors by up to 20 degrees. These are used to create the incredible Ibiza effect seen in films like Kevin and Perry Go Large. To create the perfect atmosphere for this unbelievable effect we install Co2 Cannons (either hand operated Co2 cannons or Co2 cannons that can be installed on the rigging points) multi-coloured lasers, inflatable stars, ceiling drapes and UV cannons. - Freshers Ball - The freshers ball is almost a rite of passage and Viable Events ensure it is a night not to be forgotten. We create stunning entrances using red carpet and gas flambeaux's. Inside uplighting, black drapes with white sashes, ceiling drapes, ice sculptures, cocktail bars, casino tables and a gigantic mirrorball complete the look. A spectacular Viable Events firework show rounds the night off beautifully.
- Laser Show - To create the ultimate laser show we only use the best equipment including multi-coloured lasers, green lasers, haze machines, smoke machines and massive mirror balls.
- Wet N Wild Party - This party tends to get a bit crazy we turn the heating up and provide hot tubs, shower cubicles for Wet N Wild competitions, bubble machines and an endless supply of towels.
- Popcorn Party - Popcorn parties are becoming more and more popular, as clients look for more and more variety and it doesn’t get more varied than this. Our specialist popcorn cannons spray thousands of pieces of popcorn into the air much to the delight of the dancers. An experience in itself and totally different.
- VIP Night - After extensive research visiting some of London's most prestigious and exclusive clubs in Mayfair (it was tough but somehow we got through it) we feel we can offer your freshers the look and feel of these clubs at student prices. Watch our Belly Dancers or live percussionist jam along with our top DJ. Grab a VIP table and order champagne or a bottle of vodka which is delivered to your table with sparkers. So what are you waiting for put on your sexiest outfit and hit our red carpet for the best VIP experience of your life.
- Deal or No Deal Live - This is a our newest night for freshers week 2010. It works by people getting picked at random to join Viable Events Noel on stage. They are then offered a prize or the choice to switch there prize for one of the mystery boxes which could contain an even better prize or a booby prize. Prizes can be anything you like from TV's and bar tabs to free drinks with our booby prizes including Chili Shots, VIable Events stickers and underwear.
- Boat Party - Viable Events has worked with a number of different boat companies up and down England and can offer your freshers the ultimate boat parties on the Thames and other rivers throughout England. We can arrange travel to and from the boat and transform the boat into the ultimate freshers venue. Our boat parties come complete with Bars, club DJs, dancefloors, chill out areas and sun loungers.
- Bar Crawls - We take the stress out of organising bar crawls from sorting the transport into town, to talking to venues and arranging great drink deals and even sorting wristbands and T-Shirts for all your freshers.
Step 6 - Extras
We work with you to supply all aspects of your event such as additional bar units, furniture, drapery, video projection, theming and plant hire such as generators and portable toilets.

1. During freshers week use ice breaker events like the cops and robbers night and white t-shirt night for the first night. Then for the rest of the week have a mixture of formal events like the freshers ball & James Bond night, with themed events like the wild west night & pyjama Party and finally with ultimate club experiences like a foam party, headphone disco and Co2. Saving your best event for the final night of the week.
2. If you don't have much events experience or technical knowledge ask the company you are dealing with to explain everything simply to you we do this as standard. We may be using a Martin Mac 2000 with a custom glass gobo powered by 16A wirelessly DMX controlled via an Avolites Tiger desk but you don't need to know this when we could say one of our lights will project your JCRs logo and slowly move it round the room.
