Our client had attended many of our previous events and was keen to hire us to provide a complete technical production for her private New Years Eve event.
The Brief
To provide complete production including a PA system, DJ equipment, smoke machines, lighting and top DJ, for a private student only new years eve party.
The Production
With the venue having limited room and tickets selling out it was important that Viable Events took up the minimum amount of floor space in this smallish venue. To cater for this the Viable team installed our minimalist set up comprising of a single self contained deck-stand which held all of equipment. With no air conditioning in the venue and it due to packed Viable Events installed only LED lighting effects which unlike conventional lighting produce almost no heat.
With the events main focus on dancing sound quality was crucial however with space at a premium using massive sub-woofers wasn't an option. To counteract this an all in one HK powered system was used filling the room with first class sound.
Our top DJ used Pioneer CDJ1000s and a DJM800 mixer to mix the perfect blend of student anthems, dance classics, pop, indie and R&B. A specially made pre-recorded mix was played at exactly 11:55 containing Europe - The Final Countdown, a ten second countdown, big ben chimes into Faithless - Insomnia.
A spectacular firework show was set off at midnight welcoming in the start of a New Year with a bang.
The enthusiastic guests, great music selection, awesome sound and superb lighting made this hugely popular event a much talked about function. With preparations already starting for next a years event a bigger venue so as not to disappoint so many people with sold out tickets.
